Can you fit your own chimney flue?
Can I fit a flue liner / chimney system / stove myself? Yes. Most of our customers fit their stove and or flue liner / system themselves. You do not have to use a professional installer if you are competent to do the work yourself.
How should I seal the flue pipe to the stove?
For the first joint adjacent to the stove you should fill the gap with thermal rope and then cover with black fire cement, from a cartridge is the most convenient way to do this. Any other joints should be sealed with VITCAS Heat Resistant Silicone.
How do you secure a flue liner?
Attach the Pot Hanger or Pot Hanging Cowl to the top of the liner the bottom spigot is inserted into the top of the liner. The straps are then tightened around the liner to form a secure hold. The Pot Hanger or Pot Hanging Cowl should now fit flush with the top of the chimney pot.
